About
Oxford Dictionary:
Transit - the action of passing through or across a place.
From Latin transitus, from transire ‘go across’.
The idea behind Transit and Tales is that so many of us are in a constant state of moving, whether permanently or temporary, and we have many tales to share. It is a global economy and being a digital nomad, or expat is something that is more attainable and living and working remotely is easier.
I myself have been in a state of transit all my life. And are a third culture kid. Born in one country, raised in another and now living as an expat for over a decade.
My kids are third culture kids - raised in another country that is different to their passports and to that of where my husband and I are from. They have american-ish sounding accents although they attend an English International school. Their bestfriends are Swedish, English, Canadian, Indian, Egyptian, Jordanian, American, Russian, French and Pakistani. They learn Arabic and French. They are all onto their second and third passports and are all under 12 years of age.
For over forty years I have travelled this marvellous planet. From a small infant on my mother's lap, to a poor backpacker slumming in some nasty youth hostels. As a parent I have flown many long-haul flights with three kids and are constantly packing them up and checking out some amazing sights. Sometimes I am a solo traveller, occasionally and luckily up the pointy end of a plane sipping champagne. I am lucky to have experienced it all from 5-star and to no-star. I started travelling solo before the luxury of Air B&B or Facebook to share ideas of places to stay and see. I got by and boy did I experience some great adventures.
I can honestly say I've never had a bad experience - I've had some bad days but nothing that would ever stop me from packing a bag and going again. So what are you waiting for? Plan your next journey and share your tales!
